Every suite contains traces of the past. It is alive through photographs, furniture, panelled ceilings, mirrors and paintings. The rooms are named after the individual purposes of use, going back to the time when our house was a real theatre. The walls can tell stories if you listen to them – allow your imagination to run free.
The “Relais Grand Tour” features a big suite named “Suite D'Oro” on the first floor, consisting of two adjacent, spacey double rooms for up to four persons.
The “Maison Grand Tour” features three large suites on the ground floor (no stairs) overlooking the terrace: Gli Specchi (Mirror), L'Attore (Actor) and La Diva-Suite. These suites overlook the terrace, which you can use to relax, meet other guests or bring the day to a close with a glass of wine. The terrace is full of beautiful plants and flowers and opens up to the neighbouring backyards with gardens and their typical sounds.
In 2018 we started the renovation of a new Quadrouple suite and another Double suite and believe to have them ready by Spring of 2019. The Terrace Suite will have access to an adjoining roof terrace and features amazing frescoes and high ceilings. It has two small bathrooms and access to a third larger bathroom with a bathtub, if so needed. La Cantante is a beautiful Double room with private bath and view of the neighborhood gardens. Soon to be revealed!
Located on the first floor (few steps, no lift), this two-room Suite is perfect for a couple (1 room double occupancy) or up to a family of 4 (2 rooms), or for a small group of friends. One room hast the traditional Matrimonial bed (Queen size) & the other can have the same or two single beds.
Once the dressing room of the theatre: suitable for a couple or a single traveler. The antique mirrors together with some original frescoes on the walls, the original wood ceiling and the small 16th century fountain inside the spacious room create a magic atmosphere.
Suitable for two or three guests. This large room has a gorgeous Neapolitan double bed in black with mother of pearl inlays and flower decorations. The wood ceiling and the old marble sink tell stories of old days, and you will enjoy the beautiful bathroom decorated with hand-crafted majolicas in red and blue and a shower stall.
Suitable for two or three guests. This large sunny room hosts some family portraits of which one is a stage actress in the early 20th century...therefore the name of the suite. A double bed can be separated from the third bed area by a curtain.
I live in the house myself which makes it easy for you to meet and ask me for tips regarding restaurants, museums, hiking tours, wine tastings and sights. I know Florence very well and I am happy to help you to get the best experience of Florence as possible. I can tell you many stories about hidden art treasures, the most beautiful churches in Florence, romantic walks across the Ponte Vecchio or along the river as well as many other treasures within this unique city.
I originally come from Germany and I lived with my family for three decades in the USA. When I was a teenager, my parents, my brother and I spent our family vacations in Tuscany over many years – every Easter, Pentecost and summer holidays we were here and got to know and love the country, the people, the art, the food, the sun and the sea. In acquiring this B&B in which I welcome you as my guests, a lifelong dream became true and I only wish to make your stay in Florence as unforgettable as possible.
